Auger Boring

• Method : a dry rotating auger.
• Driven normally through a jacked steel casing.
• For soft & medium ground conditions.
• The casing is jacked-in as the auger advances.
• Auger  typically sited in a pit ,matching the bore profile, &  exits into an exit pit.
• Using a two-casing system, some steerage is possible
• Widely used under railways, roads and structures.
• Pipe size from 12” up to 48” in diameter,
• Still the most cost effective crossing methods in many areas.
